I have airline tickets in hand, purchased, unrefundably done. The details of which are:
Arrive in Denver, Friday, Sept. 16 at 3:37 p.m. on American
Depart Denver, Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 4:19 p.m. on the very same airline
That gives me about 96 hours and 44 minutes to get loopy at altitude, run marathons, attend Hitchcock retrospectives or whatever the rest of you concoct for this adventure.
I am coming alone. Just me. My own bad self.
If no one else signs up for this gig, I may have four days sitting in that ugly circus tent of an airport in the middle of a great suburban barrenness, eating bar peanuts and waiting for the Nuggets season to start.
It is a risk that apparently must be taken.

By the way, I just want to add that I have wrongly maligned dim sum for many years now.
Many people genuinely enjoy dim sum. I am ready to accept this.
Before I would have challenged the motivation and judgment of anyone who offered a tentative word of praise for dim sum.
Yes, dim sum can be starchy and overpriced. Yes, the shu mai ladies can be pushy and rude.
But that is no reason to malign the whole enterprise.
I must have been overcome by a desire to spoil the harmless fun of others, to be a provocateur in the low-stakes question of brunch offerings.
Whatever it was, I was misguided. I saw something I disliked in myself and ascribed it instead to the innocent lovers of dim sum, many of them worldy people, kind-hearted people, people in love.
So bring on the dumplings and the porridge. Bring me your oldest, coldest, fat-marbled pork cuts.
I will be at the big round table by the door happily sucking at a $5 plate of chicken feet.
With each plate I get lighter and lighter until I float out the door and far away from Chinatown like a kid's balloon catching an updraft that takes it out of sight, beyond regret.
Any questions?
I have also purchased tickets which match Kevin's Arrival and Departure Dates/Times

I plan on buying my plane tix tonight to conform to the schedule set by Kevin and Greg.
Kevin, what are you writing about? It's certainly not about dim sum. Whatever it is, I don't like the sounds of it. Next you'll be apologizing to all the kind-hearted folks who like "Friends" and the Dave Matthews Band. You've lost your edge, my friend. Repeat after me: "Fuck 'em"
Actually, I was just warming up to apologize to all the people who profess to like Fleetwood Mac.
Perhaps we can agree that "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle" is the greatest stoner buddy movie since "Dude, Where's My Car?" -- if sometimes verging on the heavyhanded in its portrayal of really dumb white people.
Scott will be arriving in the mile high city on 9/16 at 2.30 pm on United from Oakland and departing on 9/20 at 5.15 pm.
Will Scott be referring to himself in the third person throughout the weekend?
I left on foot days ago.

Joe,
So you couldn't even swing a tractor? We expect a report from East St. Louis.
Kevin,
I had a chuckle today as I remembered when you wanted so much to be Judd Nelson...
Is there is a choking scene in "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle"? I think I saw that one.
I would just like to be called "Judd." And I don't think it's too late.

Arriving Friday 16 at 4:17 pm (My bad -I can meet you all downtown - hey, never book yr flight while drinking and listening to "Tusk" over and over)
Departing Tues 20 at 4:45 pm
Joe,
No, no, no. We will meet at an airport bar. I will have a 2hr headstart on you.
Did you drink enough to sing "aaaaiii-eeeee!" along with LB? Fun!
