Cuba Summit 2007 - our opportunity to bond in that way that can only be fully realized by U.S. citizens who violate the ban on traveling in Cuba, and thus spend up to 10 years together in federal prison, each paying $250,000 in criminal fines and $50,000 in civil fines. I'm in!

C'mon - they don't really enforce the ban! It's Cuba! It's not like I'm proposing a summit in Pyongyang! It's just Cuba - it's like south Florida with military uniforms!

No, seriously - I'm in. I've wanted( for some years now) to go to Cuba. It might not be very practical for a Summit, but I know several people who've gone (repeatedly, in fact), with little in the way of repercussions.

I sensed that you were in.

I was just recalling Bill Murray's lines in Stripes ("We're not going to Moscow. It's Czechoslovakia! It's like we're going into Wisconsin.")

Yes, Cuba sounds like crazy fun. But so do night classes to brush up on one's Spanish in preparation. This is more than a buddy movie. It's a picaresque adventure. And it starts at Schoolcraft College. Time to get conjugating!
