We Gonna Git You Suckas!

Here we go again. When I think of the past few presidential elections, including this one, I’m reminded of the Peanuts cartoons in which Charlie Brown gets suckered by Lucy in the hope of kicking that football. How many times can the public fall for the Republican’s trickanery? Why does the public believe such grossly obvious Republican fictions as “The Compassionate Conservative”, “The Maverick”, and “The Hockey Mom.” Are we really a nation of suckers who allow ourselves to be repeatedly swindled by the same snake-oil salesman? This can’t possibly happen again.

This is what I want Obama to do: Get the rights to the Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again” and use it as his theme song or at least in a commercial. I know Obama prefers Jay-Z, but the Who speaks more to the people he needs to reach, the blue collar baby boomers. Imagine the song playing over a montage of W. and McCain, with Roger Daltrey growling, “The new boss, same as the old boss.” It’s perfect.

Heck, I may make the video myself and post it on YouTube.

Unfortunately George W. Bush has already tainted "Won't Get Fooled Again" with this quote. "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."
