I've just cleaned out my fridge in preparation for a nutritionist-prescribed diet I'm about to endure--no gluten [wheat, barley, rye], dairy, soy, corn, garlic, salmon, beans, sunflower--and that meant downing a few beers that were taking up valuable space and would soon be verboten. Coming before a self-imposed Lent (of sorts), it was like an early Mardi Gras, but without all the vomiting.

Worth mentioning, in that barley pop bunch, is my new favorite pilsner: Victory's Prima. Also, their Golden Monkey is a wonderful Belgian-style ale (it tastes similar to a traditional wheat beer, with hints of banana and clove), and Hop Devil, their IPA, is no slouch. I recently found them all in a convenient six-pack sampler. Check'em out!
