Last night I saw a promo on Turner Classic Movies for this week's TCM Underground feature, and it looks terrifying.
The film is The World’s Greatest Sinner, written, directed, produced and distributed by (and starring) Timothy Carey.
You may remember Carey, as I do, from Kubrick's early films. In The Killing, he's the racist thug who shoots the horse. In Paths of Glory, he's the condemned soldier who interrupts his cellmate's soliloquy by flattening a cockroach with his bare hand.
Here's a review of the movie, from a trusted source.
Fire up that DVR, Marquis.

I saw it this morning. What a mess. Is it an unfocused diatribe against Objectivism? Atheism? Pop culture? Professional sound recording and film editing?
Still, Carey deserves kudos for his DIY ethos and indy spirit. And the rock and roll scenes are awesome.
I'm glad someone watched this. I inadvertently slept through it. Good thing the Marquis DVR'ed it, right?
