I've been in a melancholic mood the last few days, after having watched The Road. Based on the Cormac McCarthy novel, it's a powerful rumination on the fears and responsibilities (and to some extent, rewards) of fatherhood, the inevitability of death, and the legacy - with or without intention - we each shall leave behind.
