Comedian Greg Giraldo tragically passed away, shocking the comedy community. A genuinely hilarious and intelligent stand-up comedian, Giraldo had a degree from Harvard law, was a longtime member of the Comedy Central family and is leaving behind a wife and four children.
On September 25, 2010, Giraldo overdosed on prescription medication. After he failed to appear for a scheduled performance, he was found in his New Jersey hotel room and rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He died as a result of complications from the overdose four days later on September 29, with his family by his side.
