Wow! Aunt Agatha’s sold through all their copies of Detroit Noir!
First, big thanks to Robin and Jamie of Aunt A’s for putting on such a swell party. The wine and cookies, the extraordinary Noir cake…it was a blast and we had a great time!
[Feral Boy would like to know why the subject of book-release-party cake-availability was absent in Stoner's past promotional spots... er, I mean Clock posts. I mean, we all like cake. Right? Especially when it's extraordinary? And, the last time I checked, cake doesn't grow on trees. Yet, prior to the party in question, there had not been a single "heads up" from Stoner regarding free cake - of the "Noir" variety, or otherwise.]
Thanks also to all of our friends, families and new friends who turned out to brave the lineup and grab a copy of Detroit Noir. We hope you enjoy it.
Much thanks to all the Detroit Noir contributors who signed their names in a frenzy between bites of cake.
[Again: apparently there was a great deal of extraordinary and free cake to be enjoyed at this party (wherein, reportedly, there was a frenzy of cake biting!) and yet Feral Boy (to whom Stoner is supposedly a friend) was not made aware of this beforehand!]It was great to see all of you, and we’re looking forward to the upcoming events. Finally, thanks to Susan Whithall of the Detroit News for her wonderful piece on Detroit Noir.
[Piece? As in piece of cake? Like the delightful pieces of cake that were obviously so plentiful at this party but went completely unadvertised?]Thanks for coming to the release party, Susan!
[Stoner is a writer of immense talent, but - as regards frosted publishing house swag - his bloggings have been either artfully deceptive or, at best, not entirely candid. In the future, his book-release party announcements should provide a full disclosure of any and all pastry-related plans. Feral Boy doesn't think that's asking too much.]

+1
Let's get to the really important question: Were there free drinks?
