What kind of band did James Carter have?
A trumpet player who was good, but nowhere near in Carter's league. A solid rhythm section, not flashy except for the piano player who had some excellent solos, ass sticking up and out toward the crowd. For half the set a local musician joined the band on vibraphone, percussion and flute.
