Feral Boy Reads!

WIRED is one of Feral Boy's favorite mags. Catching up on its recent issues he came across a harrowing story about ocean-going freighter salvage (March 2008). More interesting than it sounds, well written and well worth hunting down. It's here online, but rather lengthy.

Also, this same issue featured an article that tipped him off to an eerie and enlightening video about autism on youtube.

Finally: need more proof that Henry Kissinger is evil incarnate? Another article (Yes! In the same damn issue!) based upon recently released documents reveals how he and Nixon took us to the brink of nuclear war with the Soviets (over their support of the Vietcong) in 1971.

I find Wired describes an alternative reality, kind of a virtual world limned by technophiles, where being ruled by robots wouldn't be so bad.

As an alternative to being ruled by Republicans, yes, robots wouldn't be so bad. And thanks for bringing to light exactly how high seas freighter rescue, empathy for autism victims, and 1970s US history are the realm wherein technophiles limn.
