Young@Heart

The pedestrian-sounding premise of this film: document a senior-citizen choir, average age 80 (including a 92-year-old ex-stripper), that sings pop songs from the 60s thru present. The result is ridiculously touching, as the aged singers lend overtones that are alternately ironic and poignant to songs by the Ramones, Talking Heads, Coldplay, etc. It's like a feature-length Johnny Cash cover of "Hurt". Check it out, but have a box of Kleenex® handy. Seriously.

Search "Young @ Heart" on youtube for some entertainingly kitschy videos, like Road to Nowhere.
Also, be sure to watch the great "Stayin Alive" / "I Will Survive" medley in the DVD extras.
