I don't understand - what's wrong w/ it?

Aside from the unfortunate scatalogical reference:

(1) The upper sign has an exposed raceway (i.e., the white box behind the letters), which is prohibited in Livermore.

(2) The lower sign is a cabinet sign (i.e., an internally illuminated box with a plastic or acrylic sign face), which is also prohibited in Livermore.

(3) The signs exceed the maximum permitted sign area.

(4) The sign was installed without proper permits.

The property owner snitched on the tenant.

Fair enough. The scatological interpretation seems a bit juvenile, but even if one's mind strayed there I would think it more cute than offensive. (And anyway, that's spelled poo poo, isn't it.) But who amongst us has not enjoyed a Chinese pu pu (or pupu) platter, which was my first guess at this establishment's offering? Umm... pu pu.

Anyway, I soon discovered that a pupusa is basically a quesadilla made with a corn, instead of wheat, tortilla. Still sounds delish.

The only thing troubling me about the sign was the Spanglish. And generic strip mall ugliness. But I would never want to be the one dictating these matters of taste.
