Most Dangerous Item in the Home Office This Month

If you didn't buy in to my Sazerac Rye commendation last month, then it's your loss - I've run out, and it saddens me greatly.

I've found a new muse, tho: Rogue Spruce Gin. More widely available (I imagine), I bought it on a whim last night and I love it. Mixed about 50/50 with purified water, sweetened with simple syrup to taste (or sugar, if you can get it to dissolve) and then poured over ice, it is a saccharine-savory delight! Check it out.

I've had a love/hate relationship with gin during my "adult" life. While I've enjoyed many gins & tonic over the years (I'll take Bombay Sapphire, thank you), my earliest memory of imbibing a gin drink is: warm shots of Beefeaters Dry, straight out of the bottle swiped from the Marquis' basement (leftover from his post-high school-graduation party) which took me to the edge of dry heaves during a late-night road trip to the Cabin de Krolicki, wherein I also thought I hallucinated seeing an upside-down Volkswagen Beetle alongside the road (though it eventually turned out to be an advertisement for a local auto garage - "Does Your Car Turn Over In the Morning?").
